Peggy
Hutcheson is a leader in organization development, human
capital management, and leadership with more than 20
years’ experience working with scientists, engineers,
and technical leaders. She is President of The Odyssey
Group, Inc. a consulting firm with offices in Atlanta,
GA and Washington, D.C. that works with organizations to
establish strategic human capital plans, align
individual capacity and organizational goals, and
determine learning and knowledge management needs for
the organization.
Among Dr. Hutcheson’s
numerous publications are: Helping Employees Manage Careers
(Prentice-Hall); Career Development: Developing and Managing
Talent (2004); and Building a Development Culture through
Mentoring (2006). In addition, she is a contributor to the
Handbook of Human Resource Development, and has published
numerous articles.
Her program to train
coaches, Coaching in Business, was awarded recognition as one
of the top ten new training programs and is now used globally to
prepare managers for their role as coach and developer of talent.
Her clients include AT&T,
The American Red Cross, BellSouth, Caterpillar, Colgate-Palmolive,
NCR, US Department of the Navy, The Coca-Cola Company, Federal
Reserve Board of Governors, the FAA, and many others.
Peggy is currently on the
Board of Directors of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of ASTD. She has
been President of this award-winning chapter and has served on
ASTD’s National Board of Directors. She also serves as an evaluator
for ASTD’s National Excellence in Practice awards. She is currently
chairman of IEEE-USA’s Employment & Career Services Committee.
